Get free support to stop smoking in Bury

What is Allen Carr’s Easyway?
Allen Carr’s Easyway (ACE) is a NICE approved, evidence-based method to quitting smoking. It uses behavioural change and cognitive restructuring techniques, delivered in a one-day, six-hour seminar, either online or in-person.
The online seminars are already available.
An in-person seminar will also be offered, but this will be a one-off session and will only go ahead once we have at least 25 residents who are ready to quit and have expressed interest.
This offer complements our existing Stop Smoking Service by providing an alternative, intensive option that some residents may prefer.
Allen Carr’s Easyway is:
1) Evidence-based
Two recent Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) found ACE to be at least as effective as national stop smoking services in the UK and Ireland. A long-term study also showed a 50% quit rate after 12 months.
2) NICE-approved and WHO partner
ACE is recommended by NICE and is an official partner of the World Health Organization’s Commit to Quit campaign.
3) Medication-free
ACE does not use pharmacotherapy, medication, nicotine replacement therapy, e-cigarettes or other substitutes.
6) Time-efficient
Delivered in a single session, with optional follow-up calls and refresher seminars for those who need additional support.
7) Accessible
Online seminars are available now. The in-person seminar will be arranged once there is sufficient interest. All support is free for Bury residents.
