Mental Health Awareness Week: activities and support available in Bury

Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event which enables the whole country to focus on achieving good mental health.
Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week was established 22 years ago by the Mental Health Foundation and is one of the biggest awareness weeks across the UK and globally.

The theme this year is anxiety. Anxiety is a normal emotion for most of us, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem.

Lots of things can lead to feelings of anxiety, including exam pressures, relationships, starting a new job (or losing one) or other big life events. We can also get anxious when it comes to things to do with money and not being able to meet our basic needs, like heating our home or buying food.

On a positive note, anxiety can be made easier to manage.
