Healthwatch Bury and Hanoli Wellbeing Launch New Mental Health Workshop for Neurodivergent Women
The session will be facilitated by trained counsellor Joanne Wells, who has good understanding of supporting women with ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent needs.
The workshop aims to create a safe, inclusive space where women can explore mental health, reduce stigma, and learn practical strategies for wellbeing. It includes interactive activities, myth‑busting, stress‑management tools, grounding exercises, and accessible guidance tailored to the lived experience of neurodivergent women.
Neurodivergent women often experience unique pressures, sensory overload and emotional fatigue. This workshop gives them the space, tools and validation they need — all in a supportive, understanding environment.”
The session has been developed following significant community feedback indicating a gap in mental‑health support for neurodivergent women in Bury. The workshop’s content focuses on practical wellbeing strategies, recognising when someone is struggling, and knowing where to turn for support — with Healthwatch Bury providing local signposting information.
Workshop highlights include:
- Warm‑up check‑in
- What mental health means for neurodivergent women
- Common misconceptions and stigma
- Breathing, grounding and stress‑management tools
- How to support others without taking on too much
- Local resource signposting
Priority will be given to women who are neurodivergent (ADHD, autism, learning differences).
Capacity is limited to 10–15 participants. Places are allocated on a first comes first basis.
