Your Bury Interchange - Help shape plans for the new interchange at Bury
Following the success of the award-winning Stockport Interchange, Bury has been identified as the next priority and is planned to become Greater Manchester’s first carbon neutral transport hub in operation. The scheme proposals aim to improve connections between bus, tram, walking, wheeling and cycling as part of the Bee Network, while creating a better gateway into Bury town centre and it will also support Bury’s Town Centre Masterplan.
Subject to future consultation and approvals, the existing interchange site would be redeveloped, with proposals including:
- A new interchange building,
- A reconfigured bus station to improve bus operations and passenger facilities,
- Upgraded Metrolink platforms with improved access,
- Improved public spaces, including better walking, wheeling and cycling routes, and
- Potentially new residential apartments.
The online survey is now available on the GM Consult webpage and will run from Monday 7 September until Sunday 27 September 2026 at 23:59 and can be found here.
