Get Started with Mobile Film Making with Iconic Steps

19th – 23rd July Duration: Five days full-time For 16-25 year olds
Online

The Prince's Trust have partnered with Iconic Steps to deliver this free five-day online course.   Young people will learn how to plan, shoot and edit a short film using their mobile or tablet. Learning from an industry filmmaker, they will explore how to devise and capture a compelling story, using professional filmmaking techniques that are commonplace in the industry today. By the end of the course, young people will produce a short film which will be screened to the group.

Explore Enterprise

19th - 30th July Duration: Six two-hour sessions

For 18-30 year olds

Online

The Prince's Trust continue to offer support to young people aged 18-30 wanting to find out more about becoming self-employed or setting up their own business. The course is designed to explore whether self-employment is the right choice and to equip young people with the skills and knowledge to develop their idea further.   Each module is two hours long and will cover the following topics: marketing, selling, introduction to finance, personal money management, pricing, cash flow, book keeping, business plan and next steps.

Get into Health and Social Care: Kickstart x WWL

Online learning: 19th - 30th July

Placement starts: 3rd August For 16-24 year olds

Online and in-person

This programme combines two weeks of online learning with a six-month work placement. The programme starts with a two-week online course which covers NHS values and professionalism.   Young people will then have a six-month work placement in health and social care roles as Ward Helper or Business Admin Assistant. The placement is for 25 hours per week and will take place within Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.   Young people will be assigned a mentor at the hospital to support them throughout their placement.   To be eligible for this programme young people must be receiving Universal Credit.

IT Support Programme with Generation

Starts 26th July Duration: 12 weeks full-time

For 18-25 year olds

Online

This course is ideal for young people who want to become an expert in IT and launch their career in the sector. It will give them the tools to stand out from the crowd when applying for IT support roles.   On the course young people will: Work with the latest technology to diagnose and resolve technical problems across hardware, software, mobiles and networks. Develop soft skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers. Develop effective mindsets for future progression and growth.
