Falls Prevention Week - 21st to 25th September 2026

This Falls Prevention Awareness Week find a range of local services, activities and sources of support available in Bury to help reduce the risk of falling.
Falls prevention

This year's theme, "From Awareness to Action," highlights an important message: falls are not a normal part of ageing. Many falls can be prevented, and there are practical steps people can take to reduce their risk, including staying physically active and maintaining strength, balance and fitness.

Falls Prevention Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of the impact falls can have on health, wellbeing and independence, particularly for older adults. By sharing information, advice and local support, the campaign encourages people to take action to stay safe, active and confident.

Falls can lead to serious injuries, reduced mobility and a loss of confidence, but understanding the risks and knowing where to find support can make a real difference. Through this campaign, the Integrated Care Partnership is helping to promote falls prevention and connect residents with resources and services available in their local community.
