Farewell to our colleague Shirley Waller

This week, Healthwatch Bury bids a fond farewell to a cherished colleague, Shirley Waller, who has been a dedicated member of the team for the past four years.

Shirley’s departure marks the end of a chapter filled with compassion, commitment, and meaningful contributions to the Bury community.

Throughout her time at Healthwatch Bury, Shirley played a vital role in championing the needs of older residents, particularly those affected by dementia. Her work helped amplify the voices of individuals and families navigating complex health and social care systems, ensuring they were heard and supported.

Shirley was also instrumental in helping local residents engage with digital health tools, including the NHS app, offering guidance and reassurance to those unfamiliar with the technology. Her approachable nature and tireless enthusiasm made her a familiar face at community events, where she connected with countless members of the public.

The Healthwatch Bury team extends heartfelt thanks to Shirley for her dedication and service. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her impact will continue to resonate across the community she served so passionately.

We wish Shirley all the very best in her next chapter.
