Wellbeing of older women at work

Salford University are seeking women over the age of 40 living and/or working in Greater Manchester to give their views on workplace wellbeing with the focus on perimenopause and menopause.
GM Menopause Network meeting

This survey is being conducted through Clare Edge at Salford University who is leading on a pilot study in partnership with GMCA, to explore workplace wellbeing and existing policy and practice across Greater Manchester.

What is the purpose of the study?

This project explores how policy can alleviate the impact of a range of gendered factors across the life course of women and gender minorities including the impact of the taboo of the Three M's-menstruation, maternity and menopause on their wellbeing and success in the workplace in Greater Manchester. Whilst the experience of the menopause can be varied with minimal impacts on workability, a range of menopausal symptoms affecting a significant proportion of working women, can negatively impact productivity, cause workforce attrition and increases costs to social systems with women aged 50-65 years demonstrating the highest levels of sickness absence. This project aims to understand the essence of these factors and their impacts on women in work with a solutions focus in GMCA.

The survey is targeted at women in work in GM aged 40 and over with a focus on the menopause/perimenopause.

Please see link to the survey here: WOW@Work_GM Survey

It only takes 10/15 minutes to complete and there is a chance to win one of five £50 prizes.
