Shared Lives Week (24-28 June) with Persona Shared Lives

Shared Lives Week is our annual campaign to celebrate the best of Shared Lives and an opportunity to show gratitude for the amazing work of the Shared Lives carers.
Persona Shared Lives

Bury Shared Lives, which is managed by Persona, is a unique scheme that offers tailor made support to adults within the Bury area.

It's an opportunity for people who need support to become part of a family. The scheme enables people to live in or be a part of a family environment and to be part of a community, where they can maintain existing friendships and develop new ones. They get support to gain the confidence and skills to become as independent as possible and they see their own family and friends as much as they want.

Bury Shared Lives offers three levels of support:

Daytime Support involves the carer and the person they support spending time together, either in the carer's home or out in the community, doing things that are important to them.

Short Term or Emergency Respite is for anything from one night to a few weeks at a time. It could be a 'one-off', for immediate support whenever it's needed, or a planned, regular break.

Long Term support means people live in their carer's home on a long-term basis.

Who can become a Shared Lives carer?

Shared Lives carers in Bury come from all walks of life. You don't need any qualifications or experience, you just need to be willing to share your home or your time and want to make a real difference to someone's life.

Watch our Persona Shared Lives video below. Persona will also be joining us for another Facebook Live on Tuesday 13th August at 1pm.
