Each foodbank/pantry covers a set area, check before travel if a referral or ID is needed. Please check your local area food bank opening hours over holiday periods as most are voluntary run and may not open. 

Humans MCR

Emergency Food Parcels delivery service and a Community Grocers delivery service. Referrals are done online so a client just needs to ask their referral agent to email on:

info@humansmcr.org and we will send the agent the secure referral form.

They are a delivery service across all Manchester City Council Wards, Bury, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport and Trafford. Clients can access the service once every two weeks - new referral needed for each delivery.

Evidence required: self-referral.
Membership is £3 per week to do 1 shop of groceries, fresh produce and toiletries.
They can also supply baby food, nappies etc. when needed.

Community Living Room is open at the same time, providing a warm space to chat, play games, read the paper etc. and free refreshments. Wi-Fi available.

FGRS Community Hub

Pantry is for Redvales ward residents. They will not turn anyone away without support and advice or signposting to their nearest food bank.

£3 for 12 items of food

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30am  - 3pm.

The pantry is only available Monday 12:30pm - 2:30pm and Wednesday 10:00am - 2:30pm.

Baby items such as nappies and formula at a price of £5.

Uniform shop for schools in the Bury area for a small charge (open to all Bury residents). 

They offer a warm safe space with hots drinks, toast etc also throughout those days.

Porch Boxes

They make up “crisis packs” in either boxes or large carrier bags. These are intended to give short term help to individuals or families in urgent need. Also provide baby items. 
They do not give out packs directly to individuals, but work through many agencies working in the Bury area. They order packs and Porch Boxes deliver to the agency.

Food Pantry for the local community which is the Hillock Estate, Whitefield

Open on a Wednesday 12.30pm to 3pm

People can go along and register and if at the time they are full you are placed on a waiting list. 

  • Food Pantry the cost is £3 a week. For this you receive about £15 worth of food, some toiletries, sanitary products, cleaning products etc.
  • The Good as New shop usually opens on a Monday and Wednesday morning 10am to 12noon,
  • Breakfast Club although they seek to give extras to families during school holidays especially cereals etc.
