Domestic Abuse Support and Prevention for Children and young people

Counselling Support 

Individual counselling sessions for children and young people aged 5-18 involved in situations of domestic abuse (using harm or experiencing harm.)
Delivered in confidential school/community settings.

Displaying Harm Programmes

For children and young people aged 5-19 who have witnessed domestic abuse or who are in an unhealthy relationship of their own.
Using a trauma informed approach, we offer: Group work to overcome the trauma of domestic abuse and/or unhealthy relationships.

One to one supporting change sessions to encompass:

  • Emotional support working with Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA) trauma
  • Safety planning and risk assessments
  • Strategies, tools and techniques for creating and maintaining healthy relationships (underpinned using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) / Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT) strategies)

Displaying Harm Programmes

Must be aged 13-19 years old (referrals for those aged 10-12 and 20-21 may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
Respect Young People’s Programme for children and young people displaying harmful behaviours in their relationships towards their parents/carers.
TLC Healthy Relationships Programme for children and young people displaying harmful behaviours in their relationships towards siblings, or in their own intimate relationships.

  • Face to face specialist support for children and young people using harm
  • Mixture of group work and one to one sessions
  • Support for parents
  • Information, advice and guidance service for professionals in relation to children and young people displaying harm
