Mental health support available in Greater Manchester

Insight from across Greater Manchester populations has shown that COVID-19 has had a significant  negative impact on mental health and wellbeing

There are digital support services available which many people living in Greater Manchester would benefit from. However, without targeted communications people are not aware of these services.

GM Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHCSP) want to ensure that people living and working in Greater Manchester know that:

  • Digital support services aim to provide support early and when needed.
  • Services are available for people who already have mental health issues as well as those who may be struggling due to COVID-19.
  • Support is available across Greater Manchester

The digital services available are:

Shout: Provide free support for adults and young people by text any time of the day or night
Silver Cloud: A free service providing online programme for adults to give them the skills to deal with issues affecting emtional health and wellbeing
Kooth: An online counselling and emotional wellbeing platform for young people which  includes a live chat function and chat forums

There is also an online directory of local mental health support providers and helplines.
