Get Lippy Campaign

Women are five times more likely to feel not listened to when seeking medical help for their reproductive health.

New survey findings launch today in advance of the Get Lippy Campaign. The survey, carried out by YouGov, found that women are five times more likely to feel not listened to when seeking medical help for their reproductive health. 20% of them had felt like they had raised a trivial issue during an appointment and 23% were disappointed in how their concern was handled. Nearly 3/4 of those surveyed have had an appointment for their gynae health in the past.

As part of our Get Lippy campaign, to help support better conversations between healthcare professionals and patients on gynae issues, The Eve Appeal have developed a set of tips to help people feel better prepared for appointments. Their top tips – developed with medical experts and patients – include keeping a symptoms diary, bringing information on your periods and medications, knowing the correct language for your anatomy, and doing what you can to feel comfortable

The Eve Appeal will be Getting Lippy with a host of health and beauty brands all through May to break down the stigma around gynae health, raise awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors of the gynae cancers, and support better communication between patients and their healthcare professionals - so that we can help support early diagnosis and cancer prevention.
