Winter Support for Rough Sleepers

homeless

Bury has made a commitment to provide a Winter Provision for all people that are rough sleeping on the streets in Bury.

From the 1st November 2018 to 31st March 2019, this provision will provide for rough sleepers:
• Bed for the night and provision between 8pm and 9am the next day
• Food and warm drinks.
• Accommodation with appropriate facilities on a nightly basis
• A space for rough sleepers to receive support and address barriers they have in accessing more permanent housing.
The venue for the Winter Provision will be the Freedom Church, Link House, 35 Walmersley Rd, Bury, BL9 5AE.

A referral form and consent form needs to be completed for any rough sleepers that require the provision.

Completed referral forms can be emailed to Bury Housing Assessment by any agency, between the hours of 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. If referrals are made on email, rough sleepers will need to attend a quick meeting with the Housing Assessment team, before they are able to access the provision.

If approached after 5.00 pm, then agencies should call the Homeless Out of Hours service. The Homeless out of duty officer will assess if the person is eligible to access the service.

Alternatively, rough sleepers can present to the Housing Reception at Bury Town Hall to complete the referral and relevant forms. The reception is open Monday to Friday, between 10am and 1pm
