Carers Passport Survey
Adult Social Care and the NHS in the North West are doing some research about carers’ ID cards or carers’ ‘passports’ and they want to hear what carers think.
The idea behind a carer’s passport is that it officially verifies that someone is a carer, but it should also come with an offer of support, services or other local benefits. For example, a carers passport in a hospital might offer reduced catering prices or subsidised parking, whilst some community schemes negotiate discounts for carers at local shops and services.
A carers’ passport may also help to improve the identification, recognition and support for carers in day-to-day life.
Please note the use of the word ‘carers’ in this context refers to families not paid carers.
