NEW Prince’s Trust programmes – March / April 2020

We are excited to announce the Prince’s Trust is offering FREE spaces on 7 programmes: Get Hired event, Future Leaders course, Fairbridge in Bolton (Explore outdoors), Fairbridge in Central Manchester, Get Started in Tech with Safety Culture, Get into Healthcare with Trafford NHS, Ready to work with Greggs (see attached posters with all dates and details).  


Fairbridge in Bolton (Explore outdoors)

A NEW type of Fairbridge ran over 6 session for young people aged 16-25 with an interest in Nature, Conservation and Art. This is an opportunity for young people to explore different natural environments and try their hand at new activities whilst completing a qualification (John Muir Discovery Award & Prince’s Trust Community Project Award) and producing a piece of physical and digital art which will be displayed at the end of the programme. Young people will be supported into a progression opportunity after the programme in an area of their choosing.


Location: Central Bolton

Dates: Every Monday for 6 weeks, starting on Monday 23rd March – Monday 4th May 2020

Fairbridge in central manchester

Upcoming in Central Manchester is the Fairbridge programme, for any young person aged 16-25 who has struggled to engage with education, employment or training and is not sure what is next for them. This course runs over 2 days per week for a 6-week period. Benefit from support and gain confidence in teambuilding, English and Maths, CV writing and many more skills. Continued person-specific support is provided beyond the main programme.

This course runs every Tuesday and Wednesday from Tuesday 31st March – Wednesday 13th May 2020

If you’re a motivated 18-30 years old, thrive in a high energy, fun and busy environment this event will help you speed through live interviews for entry-level opportunities with a healthy mix of local employers. If you are actively looking for work and attending interviews and complete application form, but finding no success and desire a face to face opportunity for an employer, then could be just what you need…

1 Day event is on: Monday 6th April 2020

At the event you will receive ½ day training in the morning and a guaranteed interview in the afternoon with local employment providers. If successful with the interview, you will get the opportunity of a trial shift with a view to secure a paid job immediately after.

Future Leaders is a personal development programme for 18-30-year-olds who are not in education, training or employment, or who are underemployed. The two-day programme is based around the idea that leadership starts from within, and is designed to help participants understand what makes a good leader, to identify their own strengths, and to build their confidence.

Get Started with Tech
in partnership with Safety Culture

è  If you are aged 16-25 and not in education, training or employment and would like to learn about the Tech Industry, this could be just for you. Meet new people and improve your digital skills by working on a group challenge, like how to get started in the tech industry, understanding what makes a good app, and then present your work as a group to guests. Not only will it help you discover new talents and develop new skills, but you’ll also benefit from support from one of our mentors to help you uncover your next steps.


Taster Day: Friday 24th April 2020

Location: Northern Quarter, Manchester

Course dates: Monday 27th April – Friday 1st May 2020

Reunion Day: Monday 4th May 2020

Get Into Healthcare
in Partnership with trafford general hospital

This programme is for young people aged 18-30 years old, unemployed or out of education, who would like to develop a career in healthcare.

Our Get into Healthcare programme, in partnership with Trafford General Hospital, will offer you an opportunity to gain 4 weeks of theory and 5 weeks of vocational experience as a Healthcare Assistant, giving you the tools you need to lead into a nursing assistant apprenticeship. This is a free, full-time course giving you hands-on experience of what it’s like to work in the healthcare sector.

Taster Day: Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th March 2020

Course dates: Thursday 19th March – Thursday 14th May 2020


You’ll be eligible for the programme if you match the following criteria:

Ø  Have GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent)

Ø  Young people will need to pass a DBS check and provide eligibility to work documentation prior to starting programme

Ø  Willingness to travel between Trafford, Wythenshawe and Manchester city centre is essential

Ready to work
in Partnership with Greggs

If you’re 16-30 years old, unemployed or out of education, and want to work in the Customer Service industry then this could be just what you need… Discover what skills you need for a role in Customer Service and benefit from a possible trail shift that can result in paid employment at Greggs. This 3-day course will help build confidence, knowledge and employability skills.

  • Employability day: Tuesday 21st April 2020
  • Taster Day: Wednesday 22nd April 2020
  • Potential Trail shift: Thursday 23rd April 2020
